Dr. John M. Palmer is the President of John Palmer Associates, Inc., a consulting company. Dr. Palmer is also the Director of Community Affairs and Diversity at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM). He is a member of the Board of the Gotham Health FQHC, Inc., of the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation, and he serves on the New York State Department of Health’s Public Health Health Planning Council as the Vice Chair of the Codes Committee. Dr. Palmer was recently appointed to the board of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence.

Dr. Palmer was the Executive Director of Harlem Hospital Center and the Renaissance Health Care Network for over 12 years, the longest serving Executive Director in the history of both institutions. Dr. Palmer also served as the Executive Director of Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, Deputy Regional Director of the New York City Office of the New York State Office of Mental Health and Assistant Commissioner of the New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services.

Dr. Palmer has master degrees, in Clinical Psychology and School Psychology, as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Derner Institute at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Dr. Palmer is a licensed Psychologist in the State of New York. For two years, he authored a regular column on health and wellness in the Positive Community Magazine. Dr. Palmer has published articles in the Journal of the National Medical Association, the New York University College of Dentistry’s Global Health Nexus Magazine and has presented research at the National Conference of the American Psychiatric Association, the Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy, Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities, Research and Educations Third Annual Health Disparities Conference, and the Conference on Emergency Preparedness at the Metropolitan College of New York. Dr. Palmer has earned the Advanced Black Belt in Karate.

Big Tigger, the Official DJ and in game host for the Washington Wizards, has earned a name for  himself as one of radio and television’s most distinctive personalities. His Djing and hosting talents keep him in demand for celebrities from Shaquille O’Neal to Michael Jordan, as well as corporate entities such as Nike and Macy’s. He reaches millions of fans weekly as the host of his internationally syndicated countdown show, Live In The Den With Big Tigger”, as well as his Emmy winning entertainment TV program on DC’s CW50 Network, “Direct Access with Big  Tigger”.
Well-known for his silky smooth tenor, Big Tigger entered the television scene performing voiceovers for  BET in 1997, while still working the radio circuit. Within 2 years, fans were watching him on-camera, on Rap City’s “Hip Hop News” segment. From there, he swiftly advanced to become the co-host in its 10th season. Internal changes at BET led to the reform of Rap City into “Rap City:  Tha Bassment”.  As host, Big Tigger was a prime factor in the show’s success as the longest-running nationally televised hip-hop show.  After a 6 year run Rap City: Tha Bassment, which featured the hottest DJs and artists in hip-hop, plus the very popular “Booth” segment allowing the multi-faceted veejay to showcase his freestyle talents, aired its final program on January 17,  2005. From there he would go on to host “BET Style” and the ever popular “106 & Park” on BET from 2005 - 2007 as well as numerous special projects including “The Blueprint” and “Spring Bling”. This year at the BET Awards he hosted the BET Awards Post Show, in addition to BET Centric Acoustic Soul Showcase.

Big Tigger’s newest radio endeavor as of Jan 2013 is “ The Big Tigger Show”, which airs Mon-Friday (2-6pm) on V-103 CBS/Atlanta.

A natural in front of the camera, Big Tigger has been chosen for commercial and television roles;  highlights include a national Reebok commercial, a guest star appearance on The Dave Chappelle Show, and recently serving as an entertainment insider for NBC Washington’s News 4 at 4.  Recently, Tigger expanded his acting resume has  with his role in the feature film “Where Is The Love, and his role in the upcoming film  “Drumline 2”.

As DJing is one of this Bronx, NY native’s 1st loves, Big Tigger has once again embraced that part of his life as the, and recently hired for the 2013-14 season resident DJ for Atlanta Hawks and for the WNBA Dream, after being the 5 year resident DJ for the Washington Wizards and a Cirocboyz DJ for over 3 years.  Presently he is a member of the Core DJs and  Monster DJs. Out of his genuine  concern for the community and youth, Big Tigger organized The Street Corner Foundation (SCF),  a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS. Complimenting a variety of testing initiatives, SCF and Big Tigger launched an annual three-day charity event in Washington, DC in 2002.  Attended by celebrities from the worlds of music, sports and film/television, the weekend highlights include: HIV/AIDS Testing Program, Youth Sports Clinic, Private Welcome Reception & Silent Auction, HIV/AIDS Panel Discussion, Sponsors Luncheon, and All Star Celebrity Basketball Game. Big Tigger’s 9th Annual Celebrity Classic, was last held in Washington, DC on June 10-13, 2010.

During Big Tigger’s downtime, he enjoys motorcycle riding, cars, gadgets, playing basketball, softball, football, and participating in charitable events.
